Matthews Receives McCarville Media Award

Lee Matthews

KTOK program director and afternoon drive host Lee Matthews was named recipient of the Oklahoma Rifle Association’s Mike McCarville Media Award at the ORA convention on Saturday night.

The award honors those in the media who support the 2nd Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms. McCarville was the first recipient of the award, which he subsequently was given two more times. He’s a life member of the ORA and the NRA and is a member of the NRA broadcast team featured regularly on SiriusXM satellite radio.

Matthews, an avid shooter, joined KTOK in 2006 following McCarville’s retirement.

Past recipients include Pat McGuigan, then of The Oklahoman; former talk show host Ron Black; Mark Chesnut, editor of the NRA’s America’s 1st Freedom magazine; Cam Edwards, host of the NRA’s Cam & Company talk show; KTOK morning drive host Reid Mullins; and Ed Godfrey, outdoors editor of The Oklahoman.

Excellent choice, Mr. McCarville! Lee is the real deal. Of course, you know that!
