Demand High For Guns, Ammo, After Obama Reelection

Mike McCarville

Barack Obama’s reelection as president has reaffirmed his position as the greatest gun salesman in history.

On Wednesday, area gun stores and retailers saw lines of customers waiting to purchase firearms and ammunition.

At Tinker Air Force Base, ammo supplies quickly vanished.

At the four new Dick’s Sporting Goods outlets in the metro, ammo and rifles appeared to be hot sellers. The new Ruger 10/22 Takedown, known as the “survival rifle,” was in short supply; the Midwest City location was sold out save for the display model.

Pawn shops reported brisk traffic from those interested in used handguns and rifles.

Obama’s reelection was opposed by Gun Owners of America and the National Rifle Association.
