During Tuesday’s U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on the nomination of Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin took the chance to scold the Democrats on the committee.
Mullin defended Hegseth, the former Army National Guard officer and Fox News commentator. Oklahoma’s junior senator also challenged notions of Hegseth not being qualified by pointing out that the qualifications to be a U.S. Senator is only age and living in the state being represented by the office.
