Social Studies Standards Brings Out Accusations of Lying

Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters used his time during Thursday’s Oklahoma Board of Education meeting to accuse new members of making up a controversy over social study standards which are under review by the Legislature ahead of a May 1 deadline to take action. The Oklahoman’s Murray Evans and M. Scott Carter write Walters said that was simply not true. “And so that is a lie now that has been pushed to the governor.”

Earlier this week, Governor Kevin Stitt agreed with his newly appointed Board Members that there were discrepancies.
