Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has filed to oppose the federal appeal by death row inmate, Alton Nolen, who is also known as Jah’Keem Yisrael. He was convicted of killing a co-worker and severely injuring another during a violent attack in 2014.
Nolen has filed an appeal with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma asking for federal habeas corpus relief.
“This vicious attack and gruesome murder were committed at the hands of a radical Islamist who was clearly motivated by his religious views,” Drummond said. “Colleen Hufford was tragically and violently taken from her loved ones. I will fight ardently for justice to be served until this monster is put to death.”
In 2017, Nolan was sentenced to death for the murder and life in prison for the assault counts.
