Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has awarded $18 million in grant funding to support sheriff’s offices in all 77 Oklahoma counties.
The funding is the latest round of a program created by the Legislature in 2024 to strengthen law enforcement services across the state. Grants ranging from $150,000 to $300,000 were distributed based on each county’s total tangible property valuation.
Sheriff’s offices can use the funding for operations, including training, technology, equipment, capital improvements and employee stipends.
“Rural sheriff’s offices are stretched thin, and this funding gives them real resources to serve their communities,” Drummond said.
“I’m glad to see this program continue to deliver for all 77 counties, and I thank the Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association and county sheriffs for their partnership in putting these dollars to work.”
The grant program was established by the Oklahoma Legislature and funded through this year’s state budget, with the Attorney General’s Office responsible for administering the grants.
