Oklahoma Opens Taiwan Regional Trade Office

A new Taiwan Regional Trade Office has officially opened at the Oklahoma State Capitol, creating a new hub to strengthen trade and economic ties between Oklahoma and Taiwan.

The office is housed within the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and was officially opened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Capitol.

Oklahoma Representative Daniel Pae and Oklahoma Senator Roland Pederson, who authored Senate Bill 209 establishing the office, said it will help expand trade, encourage investment and create new opportunities for Oklahoma businesses.

“Taiwan has been a valued economic partner and friend for decades, and this office will help open new doors for investment, innovation and job creation,” Pae said.

Pederson said the office builds on Oklahoma’s longstanding relationship with Taiwan and is intended to strengthen economic partnerships between the two.

Senate Bill 209 was approved by the Oklahoma Legislature in 2025. The measure became law without the governor’s signature and took effect in August.
