The Oklahoma Legislature got the changes to the voter ID law it wanted but fell short in changing the way ad valorem is reimbursed.
State Question 844 would have required the Legislature to change how local governments, including school districts, were reimbursed for revenue losses when a manufacturer is given a tax exemption. It was soundly defeated, 73.75% to 26.25%.
The Legislature will get to define what a legal identification is when it comes to voting. State Question 846 was passed by a margin of 54.61% to 45.39%.
