Oklahoma Voter Registration Reaches Record 2.45 Million

Oklahoma has a record 2,455,735 registered voters heading into the General Election, according to the State Election Board’s November 1 report.

Registration increased by 49,567 since January 15, with gains among Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and independents. The board said the total is the largest since Oklahoma began tracking voter registration statistics.

Republicans remain the largest group, accounting for 53.11% of registered voters. Democrats make up 25.56%, followed by independents at 20.37% and Libertarians at 0.97%.

Republicans added 21,998 voters since January, while Democrats gained 18,316. Independent registration increased by 8,881, and Libertarians added 372.

Although Republican registration grew, the party’s share of total registration slipped slightly from 53.29% in January. The Democratic share increased from 25.32%.

“I am excited to see Oklahomans exercising their right and registering to vote, but we need to keep up the momentum. I encourage all registered voters to take the next step and get out and vote,” said State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax.

The current total compares with approximately 2.30 million registered voters before the 2022 General Election and 2.12 million before the 2018 election.
