Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson III has endorsed Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Mazzei, citing the need for a governor who works with law enforcement and supports resources for officers.
“As Sheriff, I see firsthand the challenges our law enforcement officers, troopers, and deputies face every day,” Johnson said.
Johnson said Oklahoma needs a governor who listens to those serving on the front lines and advocates for policies that help them protect their communities.
“Oklahoma needs someone who will work alongside law enforcement, listen to the needs of those serving on the front lines, and advocate for strong, effective policies that give our officers, troopers, and deputies the tools and resources they need to keep our communities safe,” Johnson said. “That’s why I’m supporting Mike Mazzei for Governor.”
Mazzei is facing Democrat Cyndi Munson and three independents in the governor’s race to be decided by voters on Tuesday.
