Lankford Campaign Adds Goeas, Brabender, Coffee

The Lankford for Senate campaign today announced the selection of additions to his U.S. Senate campaign team.

His political consulting team will now include veteran political strategists Ed Goeas at the Tarrance Group, John Brabender with BrabenderCox and Glenn Coffee of Glenn Coffee and Associates.

“Over the last three years, we’ve worked hard and made important progress on many issues facing Oklahomans and our nation’s families, our neighbors, entrepreneurs, job creators and our brave men and women serving in the military. I am fighting for a more secure energy future, replacing the President’s failed health care plan with a plan that doesn’t limit freedom and gives Americans options through the Health Care Compact and providing overburdened taxpaying citizens greater transparency and resources to track government spending through the Taxpayers Right to Know legislation. There is still much to be accomplished, first and foremost getting real answers and holding the Administration responsible for egregious failures in Benghazi and on our borders with the Fast and Furious operation, as well as for the erroneous targeting of Americans by the IRS. I hope that I have earned the privilege and honor to continue my service to our state and nation as Oklahoma’s next U.S. Senator,” said Congressman James Lankford.

“The additions of these great members to our campaign team will bring additional resources to our strong campaign and will help to ensure a great victory for our state on June 24. I have every confidence in the experience and talents of Ed, John and Glenn and I am grateful they have chosen to join and serve in our campaign” continued Lankford.

Ed Goeas will provide Lankford’s campaign with polling and strategic consulting, John Brabender will serve as media consultant and Glenn Coffee will provide legal services.

Neva Hill remains as the campaign’s general consultant.

Earlier this week, Families for James Lankford released top-line totals from the quarterly campaign finance report it will file next week with the Federal Election Commission.  The Lankford campaign has approximately $1.2 million in total revenue in the election cycle and over $1 million of that cash-on-hand for his U.S. Senate race with 82% of Lankford’s support coming from within the State of Oklahoma.

Sorry, but Mr. Lankford is NOT my first choice. He has “waffled” a bit too often on core issues. Supporting Shannon as much as we can afford.

Can you elaborate as to how he’s “waffled”? On what has he reversed course, exactly?

Lankford’s position on ILLEGAL immigration seems to now take the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Big Bucks approach to the illegals in our country. It was “we are a nation of laws” and now it has moved to something or another about his Christian faith. Both Lankford and Tom Cole have taken the flaccid attitude that we need to do something other than enforcing our laws. We are either a sovereign nation of laws or we are not. Can’t have it both ways. Cole feels that if they pay fines and taxes it isn’t amnesty, per se. Does anyone actually believe this corrupt administration would force illegals to pay anything? Navigators went to Mexican consulates to sign them up for Obamacare!!!!

Just for clarity….name one great thing that TW has had to stand up for that took leadership…His MO in the House was to vote based his political consultants advice. Lankford in representing Oklahoma has repeatedly taken a stand, shared his beliefs and represented OK well, even gaining clout for oklahoma by serving in leadership. He spends his campaign time fundraising outside Oklahoma with Tea Party bigwigs, while Lankford has 82% of donations from Oklahoma. Take a look at Lankfords record ON CAPITOL HILL, as opposed to what you think you heard in the Media.

The modern era of Oklahoma politics has never seen a more brazen political opportunist than T.W. Personal political expediency has driven every single decision he has made in public office, and he has been wholly focused on the advancement of his own personal brand. That approach to public service is a lot closer to nihilism than anything like actual leadership. When every single move you make is a consultant-driven piece of play acting, how does anyone even really know what matters to you? Right or wrong, there’s one thing you can be sure of regarding every stance, statement, or decision T.W. makes – it’s been fully vetted by consultants.

Has Lankford cast a vote affirming your suspicion? Has he made any public statements affirming your suspicion?
