The National Defense PAC has endorsed Steve Russell in the Republican runoff for Congress in the 5th District.
Chairman Rear Admiral James J. Carey, USN (ret), stated, “LTC Steven Russell’s ability was recognized early on when he received a four year ROTC scholarship. However, those who made that decision probably did not envision that this lad would one day be involved in capturing one of the worst enemies of peace, Saddam Hussein. At the time of the capture, LTC Russell was in command of 1st Battalion which was a central player in this broadly covered historical event. Oklahoma has an opportunity to send a genuine hero to represent them in Congress. However, he is not only a patriot who has gone in harm’s way, Steve is an independent, conservative thinking man. He combines brains and brawn in the best American tradition.”
Russell faces Corporation Commissioner Patrice Douglas in the August runoff.
