Veteran journalist Ben Fenwick has been named news director of KGOU in Norman.
He is familiar to many for his journalism work in Oklahoma. He has a BA and MA in journalism from the University of Oklahoma, and has worked at the Oklahoma Gazette, Oklahoma Today, Rose State University, and has freelanced for Reuters and The New York Times. He has embedded with the 45th Infantry Brigade to both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Why on heaven and earth would an NPR station need a news director? Just more evidence of the parasitic nature of KGOU and NPR.
From my experience, both KGOU and KOSU provide more and better local news reports than most other radio stations. If you know of better coverage, please let us know.
BTW – this guy wrote some great informative articles for the Gazette.
