Democratic Nominee In 2nd District Dies In Car Wreck

Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair Wallace Collins released the following statement after the passing of Earl Everett who was running as a Democrat for the U.S. House of Representatives in Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District:

“The passing of Earl Everett is tragic and unexpected. We honor the memory of Mr. Everett, a Korean War Veteran, and his desire to represent the people of Eastern Oklahoma. Anyone that is willing to put their name on a ballot in order to be voted on by their peers as a public servant deserve our admiration and respect. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”

Everett, 81, of Fort Gibson, was in a car wreck Friday and was pronounced dead Sunday night, officials said.

Congressman Markwayne Mullin issued a statement of condolence to Everett’s family.
