Former Democratic Senator Jabar Shumate, who resigned earlier this week, has been hired by a school-choice organization allied with the conservative Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.
In a press release Friday, the Oklahoma Federation for Children — an affiliate of the American Federation for Children — announced Shumate will become its state director and director of legislative affairs.
He’s a fine man with an outstanding strategic vision for education. I wish he could stay in the Senate too.
