Oklahoma County District Judge Sheila Stinson granted a temporary injunction on the enforcement of the Oklahoma Energy Discrimination Elimination Act.
OK Energy Today writes that the injunction is part of a lawsuit filed by state retiree Don Keenan against the Treasurer’s Office to stop the law.
The Legislature passed the Energy Discrimination Elimination Act instructing the Treasurer to create a list of companies which have anti-oil and gas exploration investments or policies. State agencies and retirement systems then have to divest their investments in those companies unless they claim an exemption.
