AP Controversy Draws National Attention

apBanning AP courses in Oklahoma, because of similarities to Common Core, has the nation watching. If you haven’t read about it across social media platforms, you’re probably not very social these days. The Fix, from The Washington Post, writes the following blog, and ask the question, “But, why?”  Oklahoma legislators could find themselves answering that question for awhile.

    As an citizen ignorant about exactly what Common Core, AP, and the other buzz words really mean, it’s starting to sound like certain Oklahomans and nosy outsiders are practicing forms of ‘Inherit the Wind’ hypocrisy and paranoia that would ultimately destroy any hope of true reality-based education for our future students.
    Maybe the legislature spending time discussing legalizing cold beer sales in liquor stores and hoodies is not a bad idea – just stop screwing up education.
