Former Republican State Chairman Steve Edwards of Tulsa today endorsed present Chairman Dave Weston for reelection.
Weston faces challenges Randy Brogdon and Pam Pollard in Saturday’s voting during the GOP State Convention.
In an email, Edwards wrote:
“I am writing to let you know of my support for Dave Weston to return as Chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party. As a former GOP State Chairman, I know something about the job and I believe that Dave is the best person for that job.
“By any measure, the 2014 elections were a success for the GOP and Dave deserves a lot of credit for that success. He was able to raise $750,000.00, recruit candidates, he ran excellent candidate schools and he ultimately defended the GOP majorities we have statewide. Why change now?
“2016 is just around the corner. I am proud to have Dave Weston lead us into the next election so I hope you will join me in reelecting Dave Weston as our Chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party.”
