Brogdon Says He Won’t Run

Republican Party Chairman Randy Brogdon says he will not seek the District 34 Senate seat being vacated by embattled Senator Rick Brinkley.

Brogdon, who held the seat previously, told the Tulsa World in its Sunday edition "Political Notebook" that he won't be a candidate.

The district is northern Tulsa County, including Owasso, Collinsville, Sperry, Turley, Skiatook, and the City of Tulsa.

There is one announced Republican candidate, John Feary, a City of Owasso government affairs manager and former Tulsa County employee, and sources say others will announce in days to come.

Governor Fallin set the dates for the special election to be filing from August 31 through September 2. The primary will be November 10, and the general election will be January 12.
