POLLARD SAYS RULES DON’T ALLOW QUICK ELECTION
Republican State Chairman Randy Brogdon has called a special meeting to elect a new party chairman.
What’s behind the call was not immediately apparent, but it appears Brogdon intends to resign, or has already, since the meeting call “is to elect a new State Chairman.”
Some speculated Brogdon was going to enter the Senate race in his district, but filing ended and he did not file.

Party sources said fundraising in the past 60 days has not been good and, they claim, the party is out of money.
Pam Pollard, who lost to Brogdon in the April election, posted this advisory from the GOP Rules on Facebook:
“To the OK Republican Party State Committee members,
“I like you, received the official call and read the purpose of the meeting was to elect a new state chairman. I have not received official notice that the Chairman has resigned but I do need to point out the State Party rules are clear that when a vacancy occurs an election must be held within 60 days of the vacancy and that committee members must be given 30 days notice.
“A normal state committee meeting only requires 10 days notice so according to the Rules an election cannot be held on September 12.”
