Tardy Taxpayers Get Opportunity to Get Caught Up Without Penalties

The Oklahoma Tax Commission is giving taxpayers who might be behind on payments to make them up interest and penalty free. The program is called PAYRight OK. It began on September 14, 2015, and will end on November 13th.

During the two month period, taxpayers can file past due state tax returns and pay tax liabilities for any period before the beginning of 2015. This includes income tax, sales tax, use tax, and other taxes.

“PAYRight OK offers taxpayers a chance to pay what they owe without worrying about penalties, fees, and interest accrued over time,” said Oklahoma Tax Commission Director of Communications Paula Ross. “PAYRight OK benefits both the taxpayer and the State by giving taxpayers the opportunity to save money while paying what they owe as well as generating revenue for Oklahoma. Additionally, taxpayers have the option of getting on a limited payment plan if they cannot pay the full amount.”
