Voter Registration Deadline Approaches

As Oklahoma’s Presidential Preferential Primary approaches, the time to register to vote is running out. Voters have until Friday, February 5 to be able to vote in the March 1 primary. The deadline also includes changes to party affiliation or update to registration information, like an address change.

Voter registration forms can be downloaded at the Oklahoma State Election Board’s website, http://elections.ok.gov. They can also be found at county election boards, post offices, tag agencies, libraries, and some other public locations. If the registration is being mailed, it must be postmarked before the February 5 deadline.

This is also the first time Independent voters will be allowed to vote in a primary. The Democrats have opened up their primary to Independents. However, the Republican primary is still closed to other voters.
