Rick Poplin Seeks SD 39 Nomination

poplinRick Poplin, a Colonel and F-16 Fighter Pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, announced today that he is seeking the Republican nomination in Senate District 39 in Tulsa.

“It has been an honor to fight for our country in combat, and now I hope to have the honor to fight for the future of our state,” said Poplin. “In times like these, when Oklahoma faces challenging problems on all fronts, we need experienced leaders, not more politicians.”

Poplin is a decorated combat veteran and a distinguished graduate of the War College in Washington, DC. He flew 73 combat missions in the F-16 over Iraq, and commanded the last U.S. fighter squadron operating from Iraqi soil.

“We are dealing with difficult economic realities as a state, many of which are out of our control,” said Poplin. “While we can’t control the price of oil, we certainly do control how we respond to the fiscal crisis in our government. The difficult choices ahead will require true leadership and resolve.”
