Two Appointments By Governor Fallin

A couple of appointments came down from Governor Fallin on Thursday.

JaroldCallahanFallin appointed Jarold Callahan to the Board of Regents for Oklahoma Agricultural Colleges. He will replace Andy Lester. Lester is leaving the Board to join the Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education.

Callahan will join the board on May 17 and serve the remainder of Lester’s term which expires in 2018.

“Jarold is a lifelong rancher with experience in education at the university level, so he will be a valuable addition to the Board of Regents for Oklahoma A&M Colleges,” said Fallin.

Callahan is the president of Express Ranches in Yukon. He was an educator for 15 years.

JamesDentonThe Governor’s other appointment is James Denton to the Incentive Evaluation Commission. He is an auditor employed by a private auditing firm, as required by state statute.

“This commission’s work is vital, since there is little evidence Oklahoma has ever studied its tax incentives to determine which ones are beneficial to the state as a whole,” said Fallin. “James Denton is ideally suited to aid in this review because of his substantial experience as an auditor.”
