Senator James Lankford will hold a hearing Thursday on the Obama Administration’s regulatory guidance overreach concerning the school transgender bathroom directive from the Department of Education. Lankford chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs and Federal Management.
Lankford plans on building on his previous hearing from September 2015 in which he outlined how the Obama Administration would use the Administration Procedure Act’s exceptions and relaxed procedures to issue guidance documents. He contends this circumvents the open regulatory process.
The Subcommittee will meet in the Dirksen Senate Office Building at 9:45 am central time for the hearing.
