Sandra Crosnoe reveals on her blog that there’s controversy within the Tulsa County Republican Party about allegations that Ron Paul supporters will try to take over the county convention today.
Crosnoe has obtained two emails that frame the debate.

My personal experience is that the battle for the heart and soul of the Republican party is alive and well. Most are trying to build the party on principles that we all agree on. A few are trying to divide and conquer. It has worked in the past, but I think folks may be wising up to the tactic. We’ll see.
As I said at the end of the post:
“Promoting People of Principle is what the delegate process is all about — it matters what you stand for, what you say, how you live and how you treat one another. May the cream rise to the top and may the Lord be pleased to bless our nation once again~”
Your readers and GOP Convention Delegates around the state will have to decide who that is and select people who treat each other properly and who really stand for what they say they stand for. That is what representative government is all about. We need each other and we must grow the party in order to win elections. We want our leaders and our delegates to be people who make wise decisions along the way with the Constitution as our guide.
For Life and Liberty,
Sandie

It is disturbing that in many organizations, those that find an interest in the organization and attempt to get involved are “given the heisman”. One can see this play out in politics, business, religion and even among the country’s most “tolerant” crowd.
I was fortunate enough to attend the Oklahoma County Convention as I got to see a rejected group of Life and Liberty loving people triumph in their attempt to be included amidst angry stares and pleas from the establishment. My camera was on hand and I caught this footage: http://youtu.be/VEM3f4x4yzM
I cannot help but see the similarities between what is going on in the Party today and the Pharisees (religious elitist) of Jesus’ day. They were upset because the Lord did not do things “their way”………
Ryan, please define “establishment.” Was that three or four GOP officials, or a dozen, or 100, or…..?
Establishment doesn’t refer to the amount of people for or against an issue. Everyone’s definition of establishment is different of course. 🙂
Then how does anyone know if they are a member of it? And how would (for example) you know?
That’s easy Mikes1voice. The establishment is the people who want to keep it a “good ol boys club” and not allow any votes they don’t agree with. Been butting heads with theses people for over 20 years.
Legislators and others regularly disagree over how they’ll vote. What is the “good ol boys club”? If you’ve been butting heads with them for two decades, you can give me some specifics. I’m trying to understand the definitions at use.
The definition of “establishment” is anyone who disagrees with you — especially if they have experience you lack.
Actually, that’s not quite true. Today’s establishment is yesterdays renegades. At one time, there were those who did not what the Robertson element into the party. My guess is that some of the most vocal about inclusion in 1988 are among those most protecting their turf today.
So my wife often is “the establishment.” Damn, that’s interesting.
