Seminole Businessman Zach Taylor Files In HD28

taylorzachZack Taylor, Republican from Seminole, filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives, District 28. The seat has been vacated by Representative Tom Newell and a special primary election has been called for March 7.

“I filed for office today because I want to take my private sector experience to the State Capitol, where I can help create pro-business policies and add more jobs to our economy,” Taylor said. “I think we could use a few more people in politics with business experience, who understand how important it is for small companies to grow and create jobs.”

Taylor said he has received much support even before filing, as
evidenced by the $15,150 in funds raised in 2016.

“I was humbled by the amount of support I received in just a few weeks of fundraising last quarter,” Taylor said. “We have been blessed with more donations this year as well, and I’m so thankful for all the support.”

Taylor is 33 and currently owns part of and works in the
daily operations of RKR Exploration Inc. RKR Exploration Inc. is a
family owned oil and gas operator. He works in the day to day field
operations and management of the wells that his dad, Rick Taylor, his uncle, Kenny Taylor, and himself own.

Taylor grew up in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School in 2002. He then went on to attend Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 2005 with a BS in Aviation Management and a minor in Finance.

Taylor said there is much work to be done at the Capitol.

“Our state is facing a number of challenges right now,” said Taylor.
“The budget is a mess, and supporting public education hasn’t been a
priority. We need better economic policy and better planning when it
comes to state finances. And we need to support our teachers and our local schools as a top priority.”

Taylor and his wife, Stephanie, are active members of Seminole First
Baptist Church, where they serve and worship. They have been married since 2005, and they have a 2-year old daughter, Alexis, who is an answer to their prayers. Taylor says his faith and his family are the most important things in his life.

“I want the best Oklahoma possible so my daughter and her generation have the brightest future possible,” said Taylor. “That means economic opportunities and educational opportunities. I believe that America is still the land of opportunity, and if we can keep government out of the way, there are still great things ahead.”
