The Senate has taken a unanimous vote to suspend Senator Ralph Shortey of his privileges as a lawmaker in light of a police investigation into an alleged incident with a teenage boy. The Oklahoman‘s Dale Denwalt writes the Shortey will not sit on any committees, has been stripped of his leadership duties and cannot spend state money conducting business.
