Maughan Calls for Increased Oversight of Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office

In response to last week’s audit of the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, County Commissioner Brian Maughan called for the formation of an oversight board for county sheriff operations. The Oklahoman‘s Nolan Clay writes Maughan wants five to seven Oklahoma County citizens to act as a gatekeeper for sheriff’s expenses. The audit revealed more than $3.3 million in missing inventory under retired Sheriff John Whetsel.
