Lottery Prize Bill Awaiting its Turn on Senate Floor

The money the Oklahoma Lottery provides for education has been shrinking, but a bill which would allow for bigger payouts to winners could lead the way to more funding. The Tulsa World‘s Barbara Hoberock writes in light of budget issues, lawmakers are more willing to consider reforming the lottery.

    We voted on the lottery the way it is structured now. I don’t appreciate the shell game that is going on. The lottery was a fraud from the start, was never going to make any significant difference to education, and never will.
