Inhofe Fills In for McCain on Senate Armed Services Committee

While U.S. Senator John McCain recovers from a surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain, U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe will chair the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Inhofe will begin with nomination hearings on Tuesday. General Paul Selva is up for reappointment as Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Four other nominees are expected to be vetted as well.

During the afternoon hearing session will hold a hearing on the U.S. Navy and will hear from Reagan Administration Officials on how they built up the U.S. fleet in the 1980s.
