Rosecrants to be Sworn in Wednesday

Democrat Jacob Rosecrants will take his place in the Oklahoma House on Wednesday. A swearing in ceremony will be held in the House Chamber at 10:00 a.m.

Rosecrants defeated Republican Darin Chambers by a wide margin for House District 46 which was held by Republican Scott Martin before he resigned to take a private sector job.

Rosecrants and the other legislators will get to work during a special session called to begin on September 25 to fix a budget gap and possibly find a way to give teachers a pay raise.

I hope this guy doesn’t become just another OEA, one-issue sinker. He can, if he makes an effort, become someone who sees the bigger educational picture in Oklahoma, where the public schools, charter schools, private schools, virtual schools, and homeschool all provide opportunities for kids to find their best place and reach their potential. Every child is different, and no system or school is perfect for every child.
