House Passes Budget Bill Despite Contentious Debate

The ball is now in the Senate’s court as the House passed a budget measure Wednesday to keep state government running. The Tulsa World’s Randy Krehbiel and Barbara Hoberock write the questioning and debate on House Bill 1019 was contentious on both sides of the aisle.

    The alternative was mostly a collection of taxes on the poor, just like the stupid lottery that so many thought would “save” our education system. This bill is an improvement over a collection of taxes on the poor.

    There will never be enough for the “lets buy it and see if it works” education system in Oklahoma. Too many cooks in the kitchen for education system to work.
