Templin Rejects Lobbyist Money in SD 27 Race

One of the six Republicans who are running for the Senate District 27 seat has pledged to reject lobbyist money. The campaign pledge comes from Travis Templin, who said he believes the out of control special interest waste and swag spending need to stop.

“For too long lobbyists and out of state special interest groups have tried to control our state. While Oklahoma faces unprecedented financial challenges, a troubling number of our legislators are prioritizing special projects that shrink the influence of hard-working Oklahomans while growing waste and reckless spending. It’s time many of our republican legislators got reacquainted with conservative principles. Our legislators must take a stand and in no uncertain terms, pledge that all money or contributions from out of state lobbyists or special interest groups will be seen as a clear conflict of interest and rejected. I am proud to be the only candidate running for SD 27 to make this pledge,” said Templin.

Templin and the other Republicans are vying to replace Bryce Marlatt, who resigned after being charged with sexual battery. The special primary election is set for December 12. The winner will face Democrat Amber Jenson in a special general election on February 13, 2018.

Murdock is too much like Marlatt was when he first got in… Some shady dealings but you hoped for the best. McLarty already ran for this Senate seat and lost. I’ll be voting for Travis Templin.

Carolyn McLarty is the BEST ONE for this job. She is smart, conservative, a leader, and is honest! I’ve known her for many years and she will be a great leader for the taxpayer in the Senate. She is the one to vote for!
