Democratic gubernatorial candidate Drew Edmondson is calling for gross production taxes to be increased to seven percent. The Oklahoman’s Chris Castel writes Edmondson is generally on board for the reforms outlined by the Step Up Oklahoma coalition, but feels GPT should be higher than the group recommends.

This is exactly what Democrats and even some Republicans espouse for government, raise taxes to be able to spend more! I’m pretty sure there will be a cacophony of voices, using the teacher pay raise, as the go to whine of the political hacks on both sides of the aisle!
