Callahan Announces Bid to Replace Holt in Senate District 30 Seat

Small business owner, wife, mother, foster parent, and community volunteer, Lori Callahan, made her campaign for the State Senate official Tuesday. She is seeking Senate District 30 that is currently held by Senator David Holt, who recently won the Oklahoma City Mayor’s election. Callahan stated she has knocked over 3,000 doors and knows that it is imperative that the district continues to be represented by an independent voice with the courage to make the tough decisions.

Callahan stated, “Oklahoma is last in everything that is important and first in everything that is embarrassing. I am dedicated to putting the people of Oklahoma above politics. We must fix our structurally deficient budget, increase teacher pay, reduce classroom size, adequately fund mental health programs, and invest in our roads and bridges. As your Senator I will fight each day to ensure a better quality of life for all Oklahomans.”

Callahan went on to say, “Too many legislators put their re-election ahead of doing the right thing. Doing the right thing may not always be politically popular, but we are sent by our constituents to the Capitol to make tough decisions. My promise is to always put what’s best for my district ahead of political expediency.”

Callahan and her husband David have been married 22 years and own a successful video production business. The Callahan’s, along with their two teenage children, are dedicated to giving back to the community and volunteer hundreds of hours each year with organizations that serve the less fortunate. Lori received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and her master’s degree in business management from Southern Nazarene University. Lori served as a PTA member at Harvest Hills-Putnam City Schools, and currently serves on the boards of the Cleveland Neighborhood Association and the Integrity Foundation. Lori volunteered over 10 years at Life Covenant International Ministries which fed, clothed, and helped children from impoverished areas in west Oklahoma City. The Callahan’s are active members of Frontline Church where Lori serves on the Women’s Council.

According to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission paperwork filed by Callahan, she is a registered Republican.
