State Information Security Officer Finds No Wrongdoing with OK Veterans Affairs Medical Records Access

Oklahoma Chief Information Security Officer Mark Gower determined the use of smart phones at Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs centers to access medical records during an Internet outage did not violate federal health information privacy laws as three lawmakers claimed earlier this week. The Oklahoman’s Justin Wingerter writes those lawmakers doubt the state level investigation and are waiting to hear back from federal officials.
