Interim Study Examines Suicide Among Oklahoma Veterans

The Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee took a look at how lawmakers could help reduce the rate of suicide among Oklahoma veterans. Tulsa World’s Barbara Hoberock writes Senator J.J. Dossett requested the study that noted veterans accounted for more than one in five Oklahoma suicides. To lower the suicide rate, it was suggested the state needs to increase access to mental health and career assistance services.
