Mullin: Join the 2019 Congressional Art Competition

By Congressman Markwayne Mullin

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a high school art competition for the entire country.  The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent of our nation, as well as in our own congressional district.

The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students in the Second District.  The winner will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol alongside the winners from other participating congressional districts.  There is also an opportunity for the winner to travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with me and see where their artwork will hang in the Capitol for a full calendar year.  Curious where your art will be displayed?  Visit my YouTube page and watch the Congressional Art Competition video to learn more: www.youtube.com/c/MarkwayneMullinOK2.

The theme of this year’s competition is ‘Home of the Brave.’  Visit Mullin.House.Gov/ArtCompetition for more information, including size requirements for artwork.  Deadlines for the competition will be announced soon and posted on Mullin.House.Gov.  There will be an awards ceremony in Oklahoma this spring where I’ll announce the winner of the 2019 Congressional Art Competition.  The winner must be present to win.

If you are a high school student living in or attending school in the Second District of Oklahoma, I want to encourage you to take part in this year’s Congressional Art Competition.  It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to showcase their creativity on the national stage.

If you have any questions or would like more information, contact my Claremore office at 918-283-6262 or email Mullin.ArtCompetition@mail.house.gov.
