Pay Raise Attracting Teachers to Oklahoma Classrooms

Oklahoma lawmakers are still hashing out a plan to either provide for a $1,200 pay increase for teachers or to put that money into the education funding formula. NonDoc’s Tres Savage writes House leaders are saying last year’s historic pay increase attracted more than 1,100 new teachers to Oklahoma classrooms. The House wants the pay increase, while Senate leaders would like the money to go through the funding formula to provide local districts flexibility to use the money.
