OCPA Files Lawsuit Against Medicaid Expansion Initiative Petition

The Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA), along with a doctor and a nurse, are filing a lawsuit to challenge the initiative petition to expand Medicaid. A group of advocates filed the initiative to put the issue before voters. At the same time, lawmakers have been researching ways it could come up with a possible state match.

OCPA will hold a press conference Friday to explain its reasons behind the lawsuit. The think tank is known for its stance against expanding Medicaid because there is no guarantee the federal government would keep up its funding level, but require states to maintain the program.
