As we move into the fundraising season for next year’s election cycle, businesswoman Terry Neese is leading Oklahoma Senator Stephanie Bice in raising money. Neese has raised more than a half million dollars, however, $350,000 was a loan to the campaign by the candidate. Bice has raised more than $181,000 since declaring her campaign. David Greene has raised $2,295 so far in his bid for the Republican nomination.
Neese says her fundraising lead gives her an advantage.
“I am incredibly humbled by the support my campaign has received from men and women all across the 5th District who are ready to send proven conservative leadership back to Capitol Hill,” said Neese. “We deserve a Representative in Congress who will stand up to socialist Democrats and fight against tax hikes, open borders, and single-payer healthcare – but Kendra Horn has failed us. Voters recognize I am the only conservative in this race who has the leadership and experience needed to help President Trump deliver lower taxes, stronger borders, and more economic opportunities for all – and I will not let them down.”
However, Bice can’t be counted out yet.
“I’m grateful for this early outpouring of support for my Congressional race,” Bice said. “I’ve heard from voters all over the state that they are ready for new Republican leadership in the 5th district. I’m proud to say that most of these donations are from everyday Oklahomans – individuals who have put their trust in me and share my goal of returning our conservative, Oklahoma values to Washington.”
According to figures provided by the Federal Election Commission, Neese has raised $180,180.20 through contributions; the vast majority of which come from individuals. So far, she has spent $13,337.43 on the campaign.
Bice has raised a total of $181,210.62, so far. Individual contributions total $165,460.62. Contributions from committees totaled $15,750. Bice has spent $10,581.78 so far.
The candidates are looking to unseat Congresswoman Kendra Horn who is the only Democrat within the Oklahoma Congressional Delegation.
