Stitt Extends Deadline for RESTORE Task Force

The Reentry, Supervision, Treatment and Opportunity Reform (RESTORE) Task Force is getting a little extra time to do its work thanks to an amended executive order issued by Governor Stitt. The task force was originally meant to have a report on criminal justice reforms finished in December. The governor set the new due date at January 10, 2020.

“Due to the incredibly important and detailed nature of the information gathered by the RESTORE Task Force, we have decided to give time for one more public meeting and extend the deadline for their final report by one month,” said Stitt. “They have worked hard every step of the way, and I look forward to receiving their recommendations on January 10.”

Stitt has been supportive of criminal justice reforms and signed the biggest commutation in U.S. history earlier this year, releasing hundreds of non-violent offenders from Oklahoma’s prison population.
