Stitt Retains Positive Approval Rating

A recent survey by Amber Integrated measured the opinions of Oklahoma voters on several issues, and they seem to continue to support Governor Kevin Stitt. The poll shows Stitt has an overall approval rating of 53 percent. Among Republicans, his approval rises to 70 percent and 60 percent among Independent voters. Of the Democrats responding, only 27 percent gave Stitt an approval rating.

The survey has a margin of error of 4.38 percent.

At the same time Stitt is enjoying solid support, Oklahoma voters do want a better relationship with the tribal governments. Eighty percent of respondents say the state needs to do more to build stronger relationships with the tribes.

When asked about getting tough on crime or offering rehabilitation, 55 percent says rehabilitation should be the emphasis for the state of Oklahoma.

Taking a look at other findings, a slim majority (52 percent) of Oklahoma voters surveyed supported the $1.9 trillion COVID relief package passed by Congress recently. A majority of Republicans, Democrats and Independents support making elections more secure and 56-percent want to see schools fully reopened.

Looking back at the January 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection, 51 percent of voters say former President Donald Trump is not responsible. Of course, there is a sharp divide on that view between the political parties. Only 22 percent of Republicans would hold Trump responsible for the riot, while 54 percent of Independents and 82 percent of Democrats say Trump is responsible.

Amber Integrated conducted the survey of 500 registered Oklahoma voters from March 26 through 28.
