Congressman Markwayne Mullin and former Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon are advancing to a runoff for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe.
They were the top two vote getters in a 13-person race.
Mullin received 43.62% of the vote. Shannon took in 17.54%.
The next closest finisher was Oklahoma Senator Nathan Dahm at 11.92%.
The runoff is set for August 23rd.
The winner will face Democrat Kendra Horn, Libertarian Robert Murphy and Independent Ray woods in the November General Election.
