Oklahoma Leaders React to Trump Education Department Executive Order

As President Donald Trump signs an executive order to being the process of closing the U.S. Department of Education, many Oklahoma leaders are reacting.

Of course, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters is enthusiastic about the move.

The Oklahoman’s Murray Evans, Alexia Aston, and M. Scott Carter write that Governor Kevin Stitt showed his support in a statement, while other lawmakers and education officials range from a cautiously optimistic approach to the threat of a lawsuit to stop the executive order.
