Governor Kevin Stitt has signed an executive order directing the creation of an Oklahoma School Choice Hub, a new digital portal intended to help families explore education options and assist policymakers in evaluating education policy.
“Every Oklahoma child deserves access to the best education possible, no matter their zip code or family income,” Stitt said. “That belief drove us to pass the best education freedom plan in the country. I want to make sure every Oklahoma family can take advantage of that freedom. This executive order directs our Secretary of Education to work with partners to launch a school choice hub to empower Oklahoma families.”
The hub must be established within 90 days and will serve as a one-stop resource providing information on available learning environments across the state. The platform is also intended to help lawmakers better understand how families are using education options.
Stitt said the effort builds on Oklahoma’s Parental Choice Tax Credit Act and the state’s decision to opt in to a federal education tax credit. He said those policies help position Oklahoma among leading states in expanding education options for families.
The executive order was announced as part of National School Choice Week, an annual event highlighting school choice policies and parental decision making in education.
