Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed James Green as district attorney for District 18, which serves Pittsburg and Haskell counties. The appointment is effective immediately.
Green has been serving as acting district attorney and brings eight years of prosecutorial experience to the position. He also served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including as a Marine Corps judge advocate.
“James’ experience as acting district attorney has proven he has the leadership, judgment, and character to serve as district attorney for the citizens of District 18,” Stitt said.
Green earned his law degree from Cooley Law School in 2006. After retiring from military service, he practiced law in Virginia before opening a private practice in Stigler in 2020.
“It’s a privilege to continue serving the people of this district,” Green said. “I look forward to working alongside our law enforcement partners to pursue justice with integrity and respect for every Oklahoman.”
