Stitt, Treat Name Appointments to Transportation Commission

Exercising new appointment powers, Governor Kevin Stitt and Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat named their nominees for the Oklahoma Transportation Commission.

Stitt has named David Dyson of Elk City, Bobby Alexander of Woodward, Stephen LaForge of Chickasha, Bob Peterson of Tulsa and Gene McKown of Norman. Alexander is currently serving on the Transportation Commission. He was appointed by Governor Fallin in 2011.

“We are proud to welcome five new members to the Oklahoma Transportation Commission,” said Stitt. “All of the commissioners are qualified leaders who have dedicated their careers to growing and investing in Oklahoma. I look forward to working with them to ensure we have a safe and efficient transportation network.”

Treat appointed Don Freymiller of Edmond to the Commission. It is Treat’s second appointment. Last week, former Muskogee mayor Bob Coburn was named to fill the seat.

“It is important that we continue the progress made in recent years to improve and modernize the state transportation infrastructure, especially our roads and bridges. Don Freymiller’s background and experience means he’s well suited to help oversee and carry out the critical mission of the state Transportation Department,” said Treat.
