Lucas Helps Push Agriculture Protection Bill Forward

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed H.R. 9456, the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act of 2024. It provides for the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to become a member of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). That allows for review and possible restriction of certain foreign entities looking to purchase or obtain agricultural land, technology, infrastructure, and personal data.

Congressman Frank Lucas has been working on this issue for awhile and spoke in support of the bill authored by Congressman Dan Newhouse.

All five members of Oklahoma’s U.S. House delegation voted in favor of the bill.
